Turning Off Vista's Built-In CD Burning
Since most come with 3rd party programs that are easier to use than Vista's CD/DVD burning,
you can turn this off with a simple registry edit.

Speed up the Start Menu
The default speed of the Start Menu is pretty slow, but you can fix that by editing a Registry Key. Fire up the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop \ MenuShowDelay
By default, the value is 400. Change this to a smaller value, such as 0, to speed it up.
If this doesn't work for some reason, then you might try the following: Navigate to Display Properties then Appearance then Effects and turn off the option titled Show menu shadow. You will get much better overall performance.

UNINSTALL DEEPFREEZE
I get lots of emails complaining the missing icon of depfreeze in the task bar. uninstalling depfreeze is impossible and the only solution was to format the H.D.
BUT LUCKILY I GOT A WORKAROUND FOR THE PROBLEM.
The solution worked well in xp, though i have not tested it on vista. Do test it and pls let me know if it worked for you.
Steps you have to follow.
- Start the p.c. in safe mode
- Run the exe file of unfreezer (some antivirus detects it as a trojan dont worry coz it is not so)
- click boot thawed and load status
- That's it deepfreeze gets uninstalled
- Get the unfreezer here

Enabling right click
There are some websites disable right clicking function of the mouse button. It's really, really annoying. This is done so that you don't steal (via right-click->save picture) their photos or images or any other goodies. Unfortunately, it disables all right-click functionality: copy, paste, open in new window.
But here's a trick to bypass that. But sadly it only works in Internet Explorer:
Follow these steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Go to "Tools"->"Internet Options".
3. Click on the "Security" tab.
4. Then click on "Custom Level".
5. Scroll down to the "Scripting" section.
6. Now set "Active Scripting" to "Disable".
7. Now a dialog box will appear. Click yes to confirm the change.
8. Click "OK" and close the tools window.
Note: If this tweak causes some problem while surfing some sites, you'll have to turn that setting back to "Enable". This is because generally javascripts enhances a website.
OVER CLOCK YOUR GRAPHIC CARD
In this Guide I will tell you how to over clock your Graphics Card under Windows XP/Windows Vista. First of all you have to download Riva Tuner from HERE. Then After Install it, when you start Riva Tuner for the first time it will make some registry info which may take some time. Then soon you get a screen like this

Change your clocks according to your needs, don’t increase or decrease it too much, safe range is 50-100 MHz but some cards can go higher than that. After changing the clock speeds Test them and if they are fine apply them. Also if you want your Increased Graphic Speed to load automatically every time you start Windows check the radio button next to “Apply Over clocking at Windows Startup”.
Click on Apply and then click on Ok and then close Riva Tuner. Then play the game which you want to with better frame rates! Also if your games crash or you see some artifacts on your Screen while playing a game, lower the clock speeds a bit say by 5-10 MHz!

Add virtual drive to your p.c.
*Click Start and then Run. Now type cmd on the text field. The command prompt will appear. On the command prompt, type subst x: "C:\windows".
*The letter "x" represents the drive letter of the virtual drive you wish to create. You can choose any letter as long as it doesn't already exist on your computer. However, do not use the letters A, C, E, F, or Q because they are common drive letters and your computer may already be using these letters.
*C:\windows represents the directory that you want to place your virtual drive. You choose any directory or file on your computer.
After you have input this information in the command prompt, you can view the new drive by going to My Computer
Although you have created a new drive, it will automatically be deleted when the computer powers down. We need to make the new virtual drive permanent.
Here's how:
*First, open Notepad: Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Notepad.
*Type subst x: "C:\Windows". Now save the Notepad document as c:\autoexec.bat.
*Hit Ctrl+R (or click Start >> Run) on your keyboard and type regedit then click OK.
*On the left pane of the Registry Editor, Click My Computer >>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> Software >> Microsoft >> Windows >>
CurrentVersion >> Run.
*Now on the right click on the right pane and click New.
*Select String Value. Type in "Autoexec" and press Enter.
*Right click Autoexec and click Modify.
*Type in c:\autoexec.bat.
*Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.
Your virtual drive is now permanent. And you are done!
Create One-Click Shutdown and Reboot Shortcuts:
First, create a shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking on the desktop, choosing New, and then choosing Shortcut. The Create Shortcut Wizard appears. In the box asking for the location of the shortcut, type shutdown. After you create the shortcut, double-clicking on it will shut down your PC.
But you can do much more with a shutdown shortcut than merely shut down your PC. You can add any combination of several switches to do extra duty, like this:
shutdown -r -t 01 -c "Rebooting your PC"
Double-clicking on that shortcut will reboot your PC after a one-second delay and display the message "Rebooting your PC." The shutdown command includes a variety of switches you can use to customize it. Table 1-3 lists all of them and describes their use.
I use this technique to create two shutdown shortcuts on my desktop—one for turning off my PC, and one for rebooting. Here are the ones I use:

4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".
5. Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.
6. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "devmgmt.msc".
7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".
9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".
10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat step 9.
11. Reboot your computer

what I have to say. This article will tell you how to makes shortcuts on your keyboard
that are Ctrl + Alt + "Any Key Of Your Choice." Heres what you have to do:
1. Make shortcuts of the programs you want shortcuts to somewhere in your start menu.
2. Right click on one of them and click on Properties.
3. Now click on Shortcut if its not already there.
4. Click on ShortCut Key's white area box and type a letter other than ones used
by XP like Ctrl Alt Del and stuff. I used the number 1 through 0 (after 9).

1. Backup (copy) the file %windir%\system32\ntoskrnl.exe (most likely C:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe - the boot screen)
2. Download the .zip to your computer
3. Extract ntoskrnl.exe to a directory other than %windir%\system32 (most likely C:\windows\system32)
4. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode (hit F8 before the boot screen) or into true DOS (from a boot disk)
5. Overwrite the file %windir%\system32\ntoskrnl.exe (which should have been backed up) with the extracted exe
6. Reboot your computer as you normally would

ETHERNET CABLE: COLOR-CODE STANDARDS
The information listed here is to assist Network Administrators in the color coding of Ethernet cables. Please be aware that modifying Ethernet cables improperly may cause loss of network connectivity. T-568A Straight-Through Ethernet Cable
The TIA/EIA 568-A standard which was ratified in 1995, was replaced by the TIA/EIA 568-B standard in 2002 and has been updated since. Both standards define the T-568A and T-568B pin-outs for using Unshielded Twisted Pair cable and RJ-45 connectors for Ethernet connectivity. The standards and pin-out specification appear to be related and interchangeable, but are not the same and should not be used interchangeably.
T-568B Straight-Through Ethernet Cable
Both the T-568A and the T-568B standard Straight-Through cables are used most often as patch cords for your Ethernet connections. If you require a cable to connect two Ethernet devices directly together without a hub or when you connect two hubs together, you will need to use a Crossover cable instead.
RJ-45 Crossover Ethernet Cable
A good way of remembering how to wire a Crossover Ethernet cable is to wire one end using the T-568A standard and the other end using the T-568B standard. Another way of remembering the color coding is to simply switch the Green set of wires in place with the Orange set of wires. Specifically, switch the solid Green (G) with the solid Orange, and switch the green/white with the orange/white.
Ethernet Cable Instructions:
- Pull the cable off the reel to the desired length and cut. If you are pulling cables through holes, its easier to attach the RJ-45 plugs after the cable is pulled. The total length of wire segments between a PC and a hub or between two PC's cannot exceed 100 Meters (328 feet) for 100BASE-TX and 300 Meters for 10BASE-T.
- Start on one end and strip the cable jacket off (about 1") using a stripper or a knife. Be extra careful not to nick the wires, otherwise you will need to start over.
- Spread, untwist the pairs, and arrange the wires in the order of the desired cable end. Flatten the end between your thumb and forefinger. Trim the ends of the wires so they are even with one another, leaving only 1/2" in wire length. If it is longer than 1/2" it will be out-of-spec and susceptible to crosstalk. Flatten and insure there are no spaces between wires.
- Hold the RJ-45 plug with the clip facing down or away from you. Push the wires firmly into the plug. Inspect each wire is flat even at the front of the plug. Check the order of the wires. Double check again. Check that the jacket is fitted right against the stop of the plug. Carefully hold the wire and firmly crimp the RJ-45 with the crimper.
- Check the color orientation, check that the crimped connection is not about to come apart, and check to see if the wires are flat against the front of the plug. If even one of these are incorrect, you will have to start over. Test the Ethernet cable.
Ethernet Cable Tips:
- A straight-thru cable has identical ends.
- A crossover cable has different ends.
- A straight-thru is used as a patch cord in Ethernet connections.
- A crossover is used to connect two Ethernet devices without a hub or for connecting two hubs.
- A crossover has one end with the Orange set of wires switched with the Green set.
- Odd numbered pins are always striped, even numbered pins are always solid colored.
- Looking at the RJ-45 with the clip facing away from you, Brown is always on the right, and pin 1 is on the left.
- No more than 1/2" of the Ethernet cable should be untwisted otherwise it will be susceptible to crosstalk.
- Do not deform, do not bend, do not stretch, do not staple, do not run parallel with power cables, and do not run Ethernet cables near noise inducing components.
Basic Theory:
By looking at a T-568A UTP Ethernet straight-thru cable and an Ethernet crossover cable with a T-568B end, we see that the TX (transmitter) pins are connected to the corresponding RX (receiver) pins, plus to plus and minus to minus. You can also see that both the blue and brown wire pairs on pins 4, 5, 7, and 8 are not used in either standard. What you may not realize is that, these same pins 4, 5, 7, and 8 are not used or required in 100BASE-TX as well. So why bother using these wires, well for one thing its simply easier to make a connection with all the wires grouped together. Otherwise you'll be spending time trying to fit those tiny little wires into each of the corresponding holes in the RJ-45 connector.

Trojan Remover is designed to work on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista. The program is not compatible with any 64bit version of Windows.
